Where are their priorities?

I have one child in kindergarten this year and one in first grade. My kindergartener asked me how the kids next year can learn all of that material in half a day. Given the core standards, she is absolutely right. So Sachem has chosen sports over giving their youngest students the best possible start to their school careers? Cant cheerleaders and sports clubs do fund raisers,car washes,etc to help fund those activities?
