This morning at 5 a.m., New York State initiated an odd-even gas rationing system in an attempt to alleviate the long lines and overtaxed patience that have plagued the area for the past 10 days.
Reports of lines lasting as long as three hours, fights at the pumps, cars running out of gas while waiting on line and customers getting within close range of the pumps only to have the station run out of gas, were rampant across Long Island.
The odd-even rationing in theory should cut the lines in half. But is it working? For those with vanity, lettered, or odd numbered plates: What have you experienced at the pump today?
Let us know in the comments how the lines have been treating you.
