Talk Back: Greedy Holidays?

With new viral videos emerging from Black Friday 2012, a look at how dog-eat-dog holiday shopping can get.

Last Friday, Black Friday, millions of Americans participated in what has become a retail ritual after Thanksgiving: the stampede through all the sales available at nationwide stores.

Already news outlets have highlighted a number of all-out brawls captured on amateur video, including this melee at a Walmart. Such scrambles to get to the sales before supplies run out have already proven to have tragic results.

For today's Talk Back discussion we ask: Has the Black Friday "tradition" gotten out of hand? Or is the clamoring for newly opened crates of merchandise part of the fun, with just a few isolated incidents grabbing national headlines?

Let us know what you think in our comments section below.
