POLL: What Should Sachem Do About its Co-Curricular Activities?

Have your voice heard before the board meets this week to make a decision.

The question of whether or not to have co-currcular activities at the secondary level in the Sachem Central School District has been lingering since the summer.

Some clubs are contractually obligated to exist. Others have been reinstated thanks to volunteer advisors. The problem, however, is not enough teachers volunteered and only a small percentage of clubs are being operated at the schools so far this year.

The board of education will meet this week to make a decision on whether to fund clubs, keep the system the way it is currently running with volunteers, or just cancel all non-obligatory co-curricular activities for the remainder of the school year.
