Kate Corrigan, Sachem Teacher, Remembered

Kate Corrigan was a devoted speech and language teacher at Nokomis Elementary School for the last six years. She passed away Jan. 31 from a very long battle with an illness. Her family was at her side.

During her last six years at Nokomis, Corrigan quickly established a rapport with the parents and students with whom she worked closely.

Over the course of her 13 years at Sachem, Mrs. Corrigan also had the opportunity to work at Merrimac, Wenonah, Gatelot and the Sachem Summer School Program.

"With each building, her expertise was noted as she worked extensively with her students and their families," it said in a notice on the Sachem Central School District website. "This is a tremendous loss to Nokomis and the Sachem community at large."
