Former Sachem Library Director Leon Crain, 89

Crain was a resident of Huntington Station, survived by two sons.

Leon Crain, the former director of the Sachem Public Library, died on Monday. He was 89 years old. 

Crain was a member of the Senior Center and a resident of Huntington Station. 

He was an avid outdoors photographer and a lifelong music lover.  He is survived by sons Robert and Kenneth and grandchildren Daniel, Jonathan and David.  His wife, Doris, died in 1990. She was the children's librarian at the Harborfields Public Library in Greenlawn.

Visitation is Thursday at A.L. Jacobsen Funeral Home from 7 to 9 pm. and Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by burial at Pinelawn Memorial Park
