Preview: 7th Annual Ronkonkoma Street Fair

Hawkins Avenue fair scheduled for this coming Sunday at 11 a.m.

This Sunday, September 2, the Ronkonkoma Chamber of Commerce will present its 7th Annual Ronkonkoma Street Fair, a shut-down-traffic, block-party affair along Hawkins Avenue.

The festival kicks off at 11 a.m. and will run until 6 p.m. and provides community members with an opportunity to meet, socialize and get to know all the local businesses in the area.

Billed as "all the excitement of a NYC street festival," the foot-traffic will stretch from Portion Road all the way to Wittridge Road. Throughout the day there will be a continuous DJ, live entertainment, food, children's rides, arts and crafts, and host of merchandise for sale. The event will also crown a new "Little Mister and Miss Ronkonkoma."

"We expect over 200 vendors and 10,000 to 15,000 people to attend this event," stated Ronkonkoma Chamber Secretary Kevin Hyms in an email. "A number of elected officials and candidates will be there as well, including three County legislators representing  the Ronkonkoma area, Ed Romaine and others."

News12 meteorologists are predicting a partly sunny day, temperatures ranging from 77-82, with a slight chance of rain, most likely on the south shore. It should be a day where you can leave your umbrella at home. View the photo gallery for pictures of last year's street fair.
