New Book Explores Legend of Lake Ronkonkoma

Former lake lifeguard weaves personal history with paranormal expert analysis in non-fiction opus.

A non-fiction, personal history book that describes the legendary stories and superstitions of Lake Ronkonkma as fact is now available on Amazon and at local stores.

Patchogue-resident and historian author David S. Igneri has penned the 120 page book in which he relies on his 32 years of lifeguard experience safeguarding swimmers in Lake Ronkonkoma, as well as consultations with paranormal experts to provide a living history of the lake's grim legend. Many Sachem-area residents are quite familiar with the Princess of Lake Ronkonkoma and the staggering amount of drownings that take place at the lake.

Igneri's book discusses this strange phenomenon, and how the statistics bear out the relatively low number of female drowning victims.

The book is entitled  “Lake Ronkonkoma in History and Legend, The Princess Curse and Other Stories: A Lifeguard’s View” and is self-published through AuthorHouse. "Lake Ronkonkoma in History and Legend" is Igneri's third history book, according to a release.
