Citizen Preparedness Training at Sachem Public Library

Launched by the Governor's Office in 2013, the goal of the Citizen Preparedness Training Program is to provide 100,000 citizens with the tools they need to be ready and able to help their families and neighbors during emergencies and disasters.

On Saturday, June 21 at 10:00am at Sachem Public Library, the New York National Guard and experts from the Division of Homeland Security will provide this important training session. This 2-hour course will provide an introduction to responding to a natural or man-made disaster.

A key component of this training effort is the distribution of Citizen Preparedness Corps Response Kits that contain important items to assist individuals in the immediate aftermath of a disaster. Every training participant (one per family) will receive a free kit.

Registration required by June 17. Register online here, or call the Library at 631-588-5024.
