Sachem Football Player's Story Might Become Short Film

Should Michael Slattery get the most votes, he might also win a trip to the Super Bowl as well as having a short film produced about him by NFL Films.

Michael Slattery, a special education student at Sachem High School North who is on the school's varsity football team, might have a short film made about him should he receive enough community votes in the NFL's Together We Make Football - Your Story contest.

Slattery, who recently had his first career catch and fumble recovery during North's game against Lindenhurst, has had his story entered into the NFL's contest by his mom, Laura Slattery.

According to the contest's website, 10 of the stories entered will be chosen to be made into a short film produced by NFL Films. Five of those winners will also win a trip to Super Bowl XLVIII.

Slattery told Sachem Report after the game against Lindenhurst that the play was "awesome."

“I have no words to describe this," Slattery said in the report. "I saw a fumble and jumped on it and I knew I could stay out there to catch a pass."
