Ronkonkoma Gets Welcome Sign

Sign is at the corner of Johnson Avenue and Ocean Avenue.

A new welcome sign has recently debuted welcoming people into Islip Town's Ronkonkoma hamlet at the corner of Johnson Avenue and Ocean Avenue.

The sign was allocated out of $200,000 awarded to Ronkonkoma by Islip town board for a streetscape improvement plan, Larry Farrell of the Ronkonkoma Civic Association said in an announcement. In addition to the main sign, six smaller signs are planned to be added at different areas of entry into Ronkonkoma.

The sign is also a part of a overall "Welcome to Ronkonkoma, A Hamlet of Islip" campaign.
