SYAG vs W. Babylon lax, Sunday, 4/29:

Oh what a game it was.  SYAG boys came out the gate strong scoring there first two goals within the first two minutes of the game. They took the lead and never let it go. Alex Scichilone lead the team with 6 ground balls using his speed and also came up with a goal and an assist. Shaun Ayers and Dalton Lawrence played a great game on Defense and had some good chances on attack.

Nick Giorgi, a newcomer to the game, first picked up a stick only about a 6 weeks ago and is learning fast, scored his first goal after getting a pass from behind the cage, but dropping it as he went to shoot. However through his hard work he scooped up one of his 4 ground balls for the day and scored his first goal. JT Arena and Peter Ferrizz came up big in the game for there team coming up with a combined 8 ground balls/6 goals/2 assist.

Of course Brandan Pazienza had another strong outing between the pipes coming up with a big 5 tough saves. The coach was very happy with his team and proud of the way the new kids on the team like Brian Moir, Patrick McHugh, Ghavin McArthur, Joseph Lavalle, and Jerry Watson are stepping up to contribute. These kids played hard against a very good W. Babylon team who had and outstanding goalie that came up with some big saves.

A zero budget is not even necessary for this tremendous problem. Even with the 3.14 budget, thisRead More scenario exists. The classes will be in the thirties next year in the secondary schools. I heard the classes will have at least 35 kids in them next year because of all of the teacher excessing. It would be even worse if there is a zero budget, but the problem already exists.

It's very possible Mark, and you're right, it's already a problem because of the cuts made to get toRead More this tax cap budget. It will be a complete disaster if the budget fails.

My kids do not have Mr. Hinkaty, but I know his name well from many others. He is a favorite ofRead More many, many students. I hope for the sake of Sachem something changes over the summer and they can find a way to keep him here. Whatever district ends up with that teacher will find that they have struck gold. We wish you the best, Mr. Hinkaty. I hope we can keep you here!
