Hello Everyone and welcome back to the SACHEM SYAG Lacrosse's weekend roundup.

2nd Grade vs Babylon:

Find out what's happening in Sachemwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

The 2nd grade team had a great start to their season this past weekend, beating Babylon 5-1.  The team's hard work in practice showed, as team work and defense led the way for the Saints.  With Matthew McCarthy making several saves throughout the game, and staunch team defense led by Jason Kassis and Andrew Macchio, SYAG was able to hold their opponenet scoreless into the 2nd half.

Nick Meoni led the way on offense, recording a hat trick.  Cody Suhr added to the offense off a great pass from Stephen Kirk.  While Alex Singh scored off a nice dodge to put the game out of reach.

The coaches were very happy with the what they saw on the field.  The team moved the ball on offense and hustled on defense.  If the team can match their efforts throughout the season, it should be a successful one.

3rd Grade vs Middle Country:

What a way to start off a season in a thriller 10-9 win for SYAG.  The team was lead by Dillon Osorio who scored 4 goals on the day.  JT Arena had 3 goals and an assist and came up with some big face off wins while playing a little under the weather.  They both has some great passes from there teammates to put the ball in the net.  The team combined for a total of 8 assists in the game lead by Alex Scichilone and Pete Ferrizz who both had 3 assist and a goal each.  The Defense came up big both Shaun Ayers, Dalton Lawrence, made some big stops and nice take aways.  Tyler Gallo also had some nice strips and took the ball down the field and scored in his first ever lacrosse game.  The new players on the team showed some good potential.  With a little warmer weather and more practice the Coaches believe that these kids will step in a be a great factor on this team.

Till next week enjoy.
