Pocahontas
Ballet Long Island presents "Pocahontas - The Peace Maker" a ballet for the entire family. Conceived and created by Debra Punzi, Ballet Long Island's artistc director, the performance centers around the story of Pocahontas, daughter of the Powhatan, the powerful cheif of the Algonquian Indians in the Tidewater region of Virginia. Pocahontas is perhaps best known for reportedly saving the life of English Captain john Smith after he was taken prisoner by her father's men.
