Dine at Outback Steakhouse to Support the NY Police & Fire Widows' & Children's Benefit Fund

On Thursday, March 20th, when you dine at a participating Outback Steakhouse, 15% of your total check (pre-tax) will be donated to the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund (the Benefit Fund), when you present the special Benefit Fund Outback flyer, found on the Benefit Fund’s website at www.answerthecall.org/events/view_invite/34.  For over 29 years the New York Police & Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund has provided assistance to the families of New York City Police Officers, Fire Fighters, Port Authority Police, and EMS Personnel, who have been killed in the line of duty.

Holbrook’s Outback Steakhouse is one of the 16 Outback Locations to participate in this special promotion.  In the Holbrook community, the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund currently serves five beneficiary families, making a meaningful difference in the lives of these families, whose loved ones have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The complete list of participating Outback locations include: Merrick, Lindenhurst, East Setauket, Westbury, Island Park, Huntington, Commack, Holbrook, White Plains, Palisades, Yonkers, Bayside, Brooklyn, Queens Place, Chelsea, and Staten Island.

Since its inception in 1985 by NY Mets legend, Daniel J. “Rusty” Staub, the charity has distributed over $126 million to hundreds of families. The Benefit Fund provides immediate and ongoing financial assistance in the form of annual distributions to grieving families after they lose their loved one.  In addition, the Benefit Fund provides an ongoing network of support and gatherings for these families to cope and connect after such tragedy.  The Benefit Fund currently serves over 600 families, and the goal is to raise enough funds to provide meaningful annual distributions to beneficiaries for the remainder of their lives.  Please visit www.answerthecall.org.
