At least week's Sachem Board of Education meeting, US Olympian and Sachem alum Maria Michta took the microphone during the public comments section and spoke from the heart about how Sachem had impacted her life.
From her lifelong dream of becoming an Olympian fulfilled to her discipline in lab research while pursuing her PhD, Michta said she owes a debt of gratitude to the teachers at Sachem.
