Sachem Mails Updated Budget Newsletter
Letter summarizes current budget, encourages voter turnout.
The Sachem School District recently mailed an updated budget newsletter for the upcoming June 18 budget vote.
The newsletter comes complete with a message from School Board President Robert Scavo directed at taxpayers.
"Despite the tremendous loss of state aid and the many challenges we face, this budget will continue to provide our students with excellent academic opportunities as well as music, sports, and co-curricular opportunities," the letter stated.
The letter also speaks to the dire situation the district will find itself if the budget fails for a second time, forcing the district to make more cuts to get to a 0% tax increase.
