Sachem Lacrosse Playoff Schedule Set

Both the Sachem North and Sachem East Boys Varsity Lacrosse teams played well enough during the regular season to earn a berth in the Suffolk County Division I playoffs, which start this week.

Sachem North posted a record of 8-6 on the season, securing the 7th seed in the tournament with 125.69 points. They'll host the opening round of the playoffs with a contest against 10th-seeded Patchogue-Medford (10-4 with 117.33 points) at Fred Fusaro Stadium. The game will take place on Thursday, May 16 at 4 p.m.

Meanwhile Sachem East will open the first round on the road against Connetquot. East grabbed the 9th-seed in the tournament with a regular season record of 7-7 and 119.26 points. This will be the first time the East Flaming Arrows will face the Thunderbirds in the playoffs since East's dramatic football victory at Connetquot that sent them to the County Championship game last November. David Foster, who scored a touchdown in that game, plays defense for the lacrosse squad. 

The lacrosse game is also on Thursday, May 16 at 4 p.m. Patch will have updates from both games when they conclude.
