Cupcake Girlz in Farmingville got a visit from Girl Scout Troop 1150 last night at its Horseblock Road location. The girls spent some time with owner Karen Hearty and enjoyed some fresh-baked treats.
Speaking of treats, Cupcake Girlz is celebrating its anniversary on Saturday, April 27 with its first annual Cupcake Eating Contest. Kids ages 5 and up will go first at 1 p.m.; the adults can enter their own contest at 2 p.m. Participants must register to enter by calling (631) 320-3172.
Show Case Wines & Liquors on Ronkonkoma Avenue in Lake Ronkonkoma will be carrying a brand new line of vodka thanks to a distribution deal with Yaphank-based Clare Rose Inc.
Clare Rose agreed to distribute Lucky Dog Vodka, a new product based on Nantucket Island. Lucky Dog's president is Greg Nichols, a former U.S. Ski Team member. Lucky Dog was recently awarded the Gold Medal of the New York World Wine & Spirits Competition, according to a release.
The cost? A 750ml bottle runs at about $22.
Sticking with the spirits industry, sometimes when mom comes over a glass of wine is in order. Now the two can be combined this coming Mother's Day at Lake Buy Rite Liquors on Hawkins Avenue in Ronkonkoma.
On May 10, from 4-7 p.m., stop by Lake Buy Rite for a free tasting of STLTO Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, and Malbec-Merlot blend. Sarah Liberatore, owner of STLTO wines will be at the store signing bottles and tasting the blends with customers.
STLTO Wines has its roots in Abruzzo, Italy and stands for Sophisticated, Timeless, Lavish, Trendy and Outstanding.
