Sachem Area Residents Busted For DWI
Arrests part of a summer season crackdown by multiple agencies at sobriety checkpoint.
Suffolk County Police in conjunction with state police and MTA police arrested five Sachem area residents and seven other people during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Smithtown over the weekend.
According to police the sting was conducted on Route 25 as part of a crackdown in the early summer season on accidents that cause injuries and fatalities due to drinking and driving. A total of 655 vehicles went through the checkpoint.
Arrested for DWI was:
- David Lamanga, 28, of Ronkonkoma
- Michael Chwalek, 34, of Nesconset
- Alberto Perez, 26, of Lake Grove
- Antonio Delacruz, 38, of Holbrook
- Jose Turcios, 36, of Lake Ronkonkoma
