Sachem Area Damage/Outage Reports

With thousands still without power and countless downed trees in the Sachem community, we want to know how you're being affected.

Does an outage map say you have power, but you really don't? Is a giant tree blocking your street still?

P. Mazzolla: My area is on Acorn Street, just off of Patchogue-Holbrook Road, the last street before the intersection with Portion Road. There were several trees that fell, one telephone pole looks tilted, there is a broken wire that's hanging on my tree, and I have someone that uses a CPAP machine to breathe. I called LIPA to report this several times and was told if I left my phone number, they would get back to me. Also their outage map indicates that my area has power... I assure you that it does NOT!

Sachem Patch Observation: While driving around the community today, we didn't see many LIPA trucks - none in certain parts of the area - and saw a plethora of trees still down in the middle of roads, including a massive one on Avenue A in Holbrook. Some traffic lights are still out west of Smith Road on Portion Road.
