Sachem Alum named to SUNY’s All-State Lax Team

Former Sachem North Girls Lacrosse defender Megan McNulty was recently named to the All-State University of New York Athletic Conference Women’s Team as a second team defender for SUNY Oswego.

The junior biology major at Oswego was selected for the honor along with teammates Mackenzie Kjerstad and Nikki Greco. This marks the first time since 2005 that more than one Oswego player was named to the all-conference teams, which are selected by the league’s coaches.

“McNulty, a co-captain, was a critical piece of the Laker defense, showing much improvement,” stated a release from SUNY Oswego about the honor. McNulty recorded 17 draw controls, scooped up 17 ground balls in eight contests and was often assigned to defend the opposition’s top attack player.

McNulty recently interned at Oswego Hospital as part of her major concentration. The Oswego Lakers finished the season 8-8 this year with the help of McNulty’s defensive play.
