Reality TV Personality Makes Holbrook Tour Stop

Commack native Adam Gertler launches new line of gourmet sausage at Holbrook Costco.

Sachem area residents who visited Costco in Holbrook got a welcomed surprise: a visit from Adam Gertler, a finalist on season four of “The Next Food Network Star.”

Gertler, a Commack native, set up camp at the Costco for four days last week as part of his nationwide tour to promote his new line of sausages “Gertler’s Wurst.”

The gourmet chef is also a host on Destination America’s “Last Call Food Brawl.” He’ll be making appearances and holding cooking demos at locations across the country, including Washington D.C., Sand Diego and San Francisco. Gertler has created four signature sausages for his line, including a smoked beef pastrami dog and a Thai style red “Currywurst.”

"This is the first road show I've done and it was luck that it happened to be in my home town (or nearby anyway),” Gertler said of his Holbrook appearance. “The fact that we sold out in three days is incredibly exciting and encouraging moving forward with the road show tour and hopefully not just an indication of the power and influence of my mother and her friends."

Gertler’s camp said they sold 700 cases of wurst during his three-day stop at the Costco.
