PTA Scholarship Awards Night Scheduled
Sachem PTA Council to hand out 58 scholarships to graduating seniors.
The Sachem PTA Council Senior Scholarship Awards night is scheduled to take place on Thursday, June 13, in the auditorium at Sachem East. The evening will start at 7:30 p.m.
The scholarship awards are a culmination of funds raised by the Sachem PTA Council at its Sports Night events, as well as a donation from the Sachem teachers union (SCTA) after the union raised funds selling T-shirts at the "We Are Sachem" rally in March.
This year, enough funds were raised to offer 58 scholarships to be awarded to 2013 graduating Seniors. During the evening new officers will be installed as well.
