More Of The Same At BOE Reorganization Meeting

Leadership holds its positions, new student members sworn in.

The Sachem School District's Board of Education held its reorganization meeting this month, installing the newly elected incumbent trustees and swearing in the new student members.

The reorganization held serve once again this year, as Robert Scavo was maintained as the board president. Sal Tripi will continue as vice president and Carol Adelberg maintains her position as district clerk.

Trustees Tripi, Michael Timo and Anthony Falco were all sworn into their new terms after securing their reelection uncontested during the initial budget vote last May.

Every year two seniors, one from Sachem North, one from East, sit on the dais as honorary student board members. Last year's board members Kristie Botti and Francesca Barilla have graduated and moved on to college. At the reorganization meeting the board swore in Caila Hendrickson from Sachem North and Katie Doherty, from Sachem East. Hendrickson was the freshman student president involved in erecting the 9/11 Memorial towers at the entrance of Sachem North as part of her Freshman Legacy Project. Doherty, helped the Sachem East Girls Basketball team secure a Long Island Championship this past March.

The next regular board meeting is tentatively scheduled for August 21.
