March 22: Women in Song, Tri-M, Social Media

Check this list everyday for a glimpse at what's happening around the Sachem community ... from school events to sports games and Town of Brookhaven and Islip functions, there is a sampling of everything.

1. : The Sachem Public Library will host it's event "Remember the Ladies: A History of American Women in Song" at 7 p.m. his presentation by Linda Russell is a musical survey of the history of women in America. By looking at the popular songs of the past -- the ballads, love songs, suffrage anthems, work songs and dance tunes -- we can trace the perceptions and realities of women's lives.

2. : There will be a Tri-M concert this evening at Sachem High School North.

3. Islip Town Board: The Town of Islip will host its regularly scheduled board meeting starting at 6 p.m. in town hall.
