Last Team Standing: East Softball
Sachem East squad faces Commack today in Class AA playoffs.
The Sachem East Varsity Softball team is still alive and kicking: the only varsity team left in Sachem yet to be eliminated from their playoff tournament.
The No. 10 seeded squad will travel to Commack High School today at 4 p.m. to take on the No. 2 seeded Cougars.
Sachem East finished the regular season in third place in League I, with a 13-6 overall record. Commack boasts a 17-2 overall record, and defeated Smithtown East in its first round of action. Sachem East toppled West Islip to earn its matchup against the Cougars.
Yesterday the Sachem North Boys Lacrosse team fell to Smithtown West 13-8, leaving the East softball team the last team in playoff contention in the 2012-13 school year.
