Regatta To Honor Fallen Service Member
Lake Ronkonkoma Heritage Association to Honor Lt. Michael P. Murphy with event in May 2012.
The Lake Ronkonkoma Heritage Association has officially announced its event for 2012. They’ll host the first annual Lt. Michael P. Murphy Regatta at Lake Ronkonkoma in May 2012.
The race includes kayaks, canoes, small sailboats and a crew race to be held simultaneously.
They will also have the first annual “Photograph Lake Ronkonkoma Contest.”

There will be more details in the coming months about both.
“Many things will need to be arranged, and spoken for by every group, as this is a large event and so much needs to be done,” said Ellyn Okvist, from the Heritage Association.

On Sunday, Aug. 7, the Lake Ronkonkoma Sunday Drive will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
