Lake Ronkonkoma Celebrates Armed Forces Day
WWII Memorial Tree dedicated as Historic Landmark No. 4.
The Lake Ronkonkoma Heritage Association celebrated Armed Forces Day in style on Saturday, by dedicating the WWII Memorial Tree located at the corner of Portion Road and Hawkins Avenue an historic landmark.
The celebration was held at the tree and residents got the chance to adorn it with personalized ornaments honoring a past or present member of the Armed Forces.
Some Ford T Model cars also showed up to lend some nostalgia to the event. The WWII Memorial Tree is the fourth historic landmark to be designated as such in Lake Ronkonkoma.
