Kidtastic in Farmingville is Exactly How it Sounds

Pre-school offers multiple classes for children's and parent's needs.

Kidtastic, a developmental center for children located on Portion Road in Farmingville, opened in September and has shown tremendous growth in its first four months of operation.

Owned by Dawn Garrett who also acts as the center director, Kidtastic is a revolutionary preschool experience. Garrett is New York State certified in Special Education/Visual Arts & Elementary Education. These certifications make her an innovator in the field of teaching.

The facility offers a unique variety of classes including transition twos, discovery threes and kindergarten prep.  Additional programs such as private birthday parties, Parents Night Out, Mommy & Me, and monthly parent trainings are also available. In January they’ll be adding new programs such as Social Saturday’s, New Mommies Groups, and open play dates for children to have fun while parents enjoy themselves for a few hours.

“I know as a mother of two, when I dropped my daughter off it was horrible seeing her cry,” said Garrett. “I believe in transition and we will give every parent the opportunity to assist in their child’s transition process.”

The school’s layout is specifically designed in a way that allows parents to observe their child throughout their day. Children work collaboratively and  individually depending on each child’s learning style.

Asked how her school is different than others, Garrett responded: “I believe in an open door policy for both the children and parents. I wanted to develop a program that would allow parents to feel comfortable with me as an educator and help them promote a positive learning environment for their children at home as well as in school. Instituting this open door policy promotes positive communication with parents.”

Garrett is genuine in her love of helping children grow as individuals and in society. She also wants the same the parents.

This summer Kidtastic will be offering a wide variety of programs.  Their new innovative summer camp with cater to children from ages 20 months to five years.  Each child will have the ability to participate in many new activities such as “Fun Bus," Art Therapy, Signing 4 Me,  Music & Much more.
