Jan. 28: Bath Attack, Water Safety, Wrestling

Here's what's happening today in the Sachem community.

Check this list everyday for a glimpse at what's happening around the Sachem community ... from school events to sports games and Town of Brookhaven and Islip functions, there is a sampling of everything.

1. Mid-Island Band Festival: Students from Sachem will compete in this festival. 

2. Bath Attack: Delight in a warm effervescent bath this cold winter of your own creation, by constructing your very own fizzing bath bombs. Scented, colored and hand pressed into various shapes and sizes. Learn how to create luscious bath treatments with common household items. Event is at the Sachem Public Library from 7-8:30 p.m.

3. Water Safety: If you are at least 16 years old and a proficient swimmer, you can become an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor. Learn how to teach children and adults to swim. Maximum is 10 per class. Must attend all days. 

4. Wrestling: Sachem East is at Longwood, while North hosts Bay Shore in a dual meet.
