Jan. 24: Advisory Council, Bridge, TOB Planning

Here's what's happening Monday in the Sachem community.

Check this list everyday for a glimpse at what's happening around the Sachem community ... from school events to sports games and Town of Brookhaven and Islip functions, there is a sampling of everything.

1. Advisory council: The Sachem community education advisory council will meet at the Sachem North library at 7:30 p.m.

2. Youth tutoring: Youth Enrichment Services provides youth tutoring services, free of charge. Two spots: West Islip/Bay Shore areas - West Islip Community Center, 90 Higbie Lane, W.I.; Central Islip - C.I. Recreation Center, 555 Clayton St., C.I.

3. TOB Planning: Head down to Town of Brookhaven Townhall for the monthly planning meeting from 4-10 p.m.

4. That's right. Head down to the Sachem Public Library from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a little bridge fun.

5. Stories: Check the site today for a story about CNBC personality Sue Herera and her quest to help the Rose Brucia Educational Foundation, as well as a piece on the fireside reading program at Grundy Avenue Elementary School.
