Jan. 19: Jack Mahoney Honored, Library Activities, Rock Radio

Here's what's happening Wednesday in the Sachem community.

Check this list everyday for a glimpse at what's happening around the Sachem community ... from school events to sports games and Town of Brookhaven and Islip functions, there is a sampling of everything.

1. Wrestling: Former Sachem wrestling coaching legend Jack Money will be honored with his National Wrestling Hall of Fame plaque in a ceremony at Sachem North. The event starts at 6 p.m. and will include a dual meet for both Sachem High Schools East and North.

2.  Au Pair in America will be at the free childcare and pre-school showcase at the Sachem Public Library. Meet the local Community Counselor and some Au Pairs. Au Pair in America is celebrating 25 years as the world's most trusted childcare provider. 

3. Also at the library, strengthen your creative skills in The Art Encounter at Sachem Public Library weekly on Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Do you have a desire to fulfill your passion for art? Artist Jack Dean leads this weekly gathering of art enthusiasts.

4. Tune into 91.9 FM The Arrow to listen to "The Rock of Ages" from 2-3 p.m.

5. Stories: Check the site today for a recipe for peanut butter pasta, and a Q&A with former Sachem swimmer Zach Coleman.
