Here's what's happening Friday in the Sachem community.
Check this list everyday for a glimpse at what's happening around the Sachem community ... from school events to sports games and Town of Brookhaven and Islip functions, there is a sampling of everything.
1. Basketball: The East and North boys are in action against Longwood and Connetquot, respectively. The also play Longwood on the road.
As a community service project, 11th grade Sachem East student, Valerie Zeffiro has organized a Suffolk County team, "Suffolk Swimmers" to take part in the 2011 Special Olympics New York Polar Bear Plunge. 3. Performance: Robert Cinnante and Michael Dougherty have been wowing audiences at Sachem Library since they were in middle school. They'll be at it again Friday evening at 7 p.m.
4. Teen Night: Town of Islip teens can check out the Safe, supervised teen programming provided by Islip Youth Bureau agency, South Shore Community Organization (SSCO). It runs from 7-9 p.m. at the Joyce Fitzpatrick Center in East Islip. Activities include; Karaoke, Wii Bowling, board games, refreshments, movies, etc. Call for further details and to register.
