Here's what's happening Tuesday in the Sachem community.

The Art Encounter: Strengthen your creative skills in The Art Encounter at Sachem Public Library weekly on Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Do you have a desire to fulfill your passion for art? Artist Jack Dean leads this weekly gathering of art enthusiasts. Work in your favorite media, share ideas and learn new techniques in a relaxed atmosphere. Bring your supplies and a work-in-progress, or start something new and have fun as you allow your creative energy to flow.

2. Zoning Board: Catch a zoning board meeting at the Town of Brookhaven town hall from 2-11 p.m.

3. Art Exhibit: Check out the Cut Ups Exhibit at the Islip Art Museum until Jan. 25. Artists create amazing work using scissors and paper.

4. Stories: Check the site today to read about Chris Weilbacher, a Sachem North student who received a Congressional nomination for the United States Air Force Academy.

5. Radio Show: Check out the Rock of Ages radio show on 91.9 WSHR from 3-5 p.m. The Rock of Ages rocks the airwaves with the greatest hits of Rock n' Roll history. From the Beatles, the Who and Led Zeppelin to Green Day and Coheed & Cambria, it's all there.
