Locals getting ready for what could be one of the biggest storms to hit LI in quite some time.
Hurricane Irene should touch land in a little more than 24 hours. Hopefully by the time you read this you’ll be stocked up and prepared.

Joseph Scarola: Have to get a battery-operated radio today.
Albert T. Johnson: Bought a lot of water, have a lot of food, batteries, flashlights, documents in order, secured everything in the yard and I’m monitoring the counties website for updates. Make sure you hit the bank folks and also check the Red Cross website for a list of supplies you may need.
