Suffolk County Legis. Presiding Officer William J. Lindsay recently honored Holbrook resident Sue Koerber as the Eighth Legislative District’s 2012 Woman of Distinction.

Koerber is a founding member of the Parkland Civic Association, and she has served as a Director since 2005. Sue is also an active member of the Holbrook Beautification Committee that was started in August, 2010.

Koerber is a special education teaching assistant, and she is committed to educating our young people about fire safety and the use of equipment. Sue was previously a member of the Fire Medic Company for the Holbrook Fire Department, and she is currently an active member of the Sayville Community Ambulance Company, where she rides a twelve-hour overnight shift every Thursday.

“Sue exemplifies excellence in everything she does for her community, and I always appreciate her insight and depth of knowledge,” said Lindsay, in a statement. “Sue has partnered with me in many projects to preserve our neighborhoods, and I look forward to continuing our close relationship and friendship. Congratulations Sue on this most deserved honor.”
