Sachem North student Amber Thorbjornsen managed to capture images of a hawk flying around Ronkonkoma Friday afternoon.
The bird positioned itself on the hood of a car, then aimed in on a squirrel, eventually grabbing it from the ground. Look at all four pics carefully to see the details just described.
The action happened on Leicester Avenue around 3:20 p.m. The owner of the car it was parked on wasn't home, Thorbjornsen said.
