On Wednesday, the Sachem East Varsity Softball team pulled off an upset win over Commack 4-1 in the Suffolk Class AA playoffs.

Marissa Smith pitched a complete game of 5-hit ball and had an RBI single in the game. The victory earned the squad a trip to the semifinals today against Longwood High School.
