Feb. 5: Wrestling, Food Pantry, Bird Walk

Here's what's happening today in the Sachem community.

Check this list everyday for a glimpse at what's happening around the Sachem community ... from school events to sports games and Town of Brookhaven and Islip functions, there is a sampling of everything.

1. Wrestling: Both Sachem East and North will wrestle in their respective league tournaments today. Check Sachem Patch for coverage.

2. Bird Walk: Our winged winter visitors have arrived. These walks will highlight several species of ducks, but we’ll also be on the lookout for dark-eyed juncos, kinglets, finches, white-throated sparrows, black-capped chickadees, and other winter residents. Walks last approximately 2 hours.

3.  The Holbrook Hope Ministry Food Pantry will be open Saturday, offering non-perishable food to anyone in the area experiencing a hardship.

4. SCMEA: For all you music heads out there, don't forget today is SCMEA Day or Percussion.
