East Girls Hoops Stars Make College Plans
Doherty, Everson heading to D1 schools upon graduation from Sachem.
Sachem East Girls Basketball players Katie Doherty and Kathleen Everson have made verbal commitments to their respective colleges when they graduate in 2014.
Doherty, the centerpiece of Sachem East's Long Island Championship team this year, has committed to Holy Cross, in Worcester, Mass., while Everson plans on attending Bryant in Rhode Island. Both are Division I schools.
Last season Bryant went 12-18 and lost in the quarterfinals of the Northeast Conference. Holy Cross, which plays in the Patriot League, put up an 18-14 record, but lost in the conference championship to Navy.
