Crime Report: Vandals Hit Bissett Nursery

A look at recent crime in Holtsville.

Holtsville

  • Police are investigating a criminal mischief crime that occurred at Bissett Nursery on June 8 at around 5:30 p.m. According to police vandals broke into the nursery on Long Island Avenue and spray painted nine of the company's trucks. Authorities say damage was done to the wood and metal door runner paneling locating on the sides of the trucks. The investigation is ongoing.
  • Ricardo Delgado, 21, of Holtsville was arrested in East Patchogue on June 8 for 3rd degree criminal mischief, 2nd degree assault and harassment after a confrontation at a business led to a scuffle with police. Authorities say Delgado had punched two windows in front of a building on Montauk Highway in East Patchogue and when police attempted to arrest him, he injured the arresting officer's right hand. The officer was sent to South Side Hospital for his injury. Police say Delgado also threatened the officer, leading to the harassment charge.
