Crime Report: Machete Attack

A look at recent crime in Holbrook.

The following information was culled from the Suffolk County Police Department's automated reporting and arrest database.

Holbrook

  • Police responded to a criminal mischief call on Church Street on June 29 at around 1:56 p.m. According to police someone driving a gold-colored Nissan drove past an ice cream truck and fired pellets at the truck with a BB gun. 
  • Police responded to a grand larceny call on June 30 at around 12 p.m. According to police jewelry was stolen from the bedroom of a home on Tarkington Road. There were no signs of forced entry.
  • Police answered a grand larceny call on June 28 at around 8:20 a.m. According to police the complainant had parked his 2000 Suzuki motorcycle at a friend's house on Clarice Boulevard for an indefinite period of time. When the complainant returned to the friend's house to retrieve the bike, he noticed it was gone. Police say the friend knew nothing about its disappearance.
  • Police answered a grand larceny call on June 25 at around 10 a.m. According to police say a known individual stole an iPad, iPod and an ATM card from a home on Poulsen Street. No arrest was made in the case.
  • Police arrested a Holbrook teen on June 30 after they say he attacked another man with a machete in East Farmingdale. Police say 18-year-old Noe Villalta attacked the victim on Airport Plaza, striking him with the machete and causing a laceration to the victim. Police say the victim was not hospitalized over the incident. Villalta was charged with 3rd-degree assault with intent to cause physical injury with a weapon.
