Crime Report: Irate Customer, Park Assault

A look at recent crime in Ronkonkoma.

The following information was culled from the Suffolk County Police Department's automated reporting and arrest system.

Ronkonkoma

  • Police responded to a harassment call at Raynor Park on Ronkonkoma Avenue on June 11 at around 4:50 p.m. According to police a man called 911 after he said he was approached at Raynor Park by a group of unknown males, who punched the complainant in the face. The complainant received lacerations to his lip from the attack. After fleeing to his vehicle, the group followed the complainant home and attempted to open the door to his vehicle before they fled the scene. No arrests have been made.
  • Police answered a harassment call at the Stop N' Shop on Portion Road on June 11 at around 9 p.m. According to police an employee at the store called 911 after an irate customer threatened to beat the complainant. 
  • Police were handed a false report of a robbery on Old Nichols Road on June 10 at around 4:45 p.m. According to police a male complainant stated he had been accosted in an apparent robbery attempt. The 911 call was transferred to the Fourth Precinct, but later the complainant admitted the incident never took place.
  • There were no arrests for serious offenses in Ronkonkoma this week.
