Crime Report: Broken Window, Angry Texting

A look at recent crime in Ronkonkoma.

The following information was culled from the Suffolk County Police department's automated reporting system.

Ronkonkoma

  • Police responded to a harassment call on Round Pond Road on May 28 at around 10 a.m. According to police a cleaning lady was working in the apartment complex when a resident approached her and slapped her on the right forearm. No charges were pressed in the incident.
  • Police responded to a criminal mischief call at the Holiday Inn on Veteran's Highway on May 25 at around 10:30 p.m. According to police an unknown subject broke the passenger side window of a 1999 Mazda. 
  • Police answered a call for aggravated harassment at Long Island MacArthur Airport on May 25 at around 2 p.m. According to police the complainant was getting harassing text messages from a known subject. No arrests were made in the incident.
  • Corbett Robinson, 54, of Ronkonkoma, was arrested on May 21 in Mt. Sinai and charged with DWI with a prior conviction in 10 years, a felony. After a 911 caller reported an erratic driver on Mt. Sinai-Coram Road, police said they found Robinson asleep behind the wheel with the engine running. According to court records, Robinson was arrested at 12:55 a.m. and posted $5,000 bail on May 29. He is due back in court onJuly 30.
