Crime Report: Angry Landlord, Phone Scam

A look at recent crime in Holbrook.

The following information was culled from the Suffolk County Police Department's automated incident and arrest system. 

Holbrook

  • Police received a call about an attempted phone scam at a residence on Hampshire Court on June 9 at around 11:30 a.m. According to police a resident at the location received a phone call from someone claiming they had his son in captivity and was demanding cash. 
  • Police responded to a dispute between a landlord and tenant on Geery Avenue on June 9 at around 3 p.m. According to police the tenant claimed the landlord had threatened him.
  • Police responded to a criminal mischief call on Saddle Rock Road on June 5 at around 9:30 a.m. According to police a front door and front screen door was damaged at a residence on the block. No items were taken from the home, police said.
  • Madelyn Nappi, of Holbrook, was arrested in Copiague on June 5 for possession of a hypodermic instrument and 7th degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
