Councilwoman Kepert Attends Charity Walk

5K Walk helps support treatment for Cystic Fibrosis.

Last Sunday Brookhaven Town Councilwoman Connie Kepert joined thousands of supporters at the annual Great Strides 5K Cystic Fibrosis Walk held at the Holtsville Ecology Center.

“The 5K walk held every year at the Holtsville Ecology site helps to raise needed funds which are dedicated to find a cure for this debilitating disease,” Councilwoman Kepert stated in a release.

Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disorder that affects the lungs and can have a life-altering impact on those who suffer from it. Treatment of the disease has evolved effectively over the years with the aid of funding and local benefits such as the 5K Walk.
