Commerdinger Homestead Gets Roof Repair

Work begins this week on repairs to 200-year-old historic house.

Legislator John M. Kennedy, Jr.  and the Walter S. Commerdinger, Jr. County Park Preservation Society has announced it will begin repairs on the roof of the 200 year-old Commerdinger Homestead beginning today.

The project was spearheaded by the Preservation Society and helped along with advocacy from Leg. Kennedy, according to a recent release. Work began today at around 8 a.m. and will continue on through the week.

The announcement stated that funding for the project was made possible through fundraising efforts of the Commerdinger Park Preservation Society and a grant that matched the Society's efforts.

According to the county, this repair is the first of the many infrastructural projects aimed towards restoration of the Commerdinger property back to its original state.
