Brookhaven Establishes Drop-Off Areas for Brush

A special collection date for yard waste has also been set up.

Brookhaven residents can drop off tree debris, limbs and other yard waste at one of four sites the town has opened to accept yard debris in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene.

A town spokeswoman said Tuesday that Percy Raynor Park in Setauket, the Holtsville Ecology Center, the town landfill in Yaphank and the Manorville compost facility are accepting resident drop-offs as long as the debris is bundled. According to the town, bundling is required for the town to receive .

In addition, the town has set a special yard waste collection date next week. Instructions from the town include bundling the debris and putting it out on Sunday night and it will be taken away according to an internal schedule of pickup.
