April 27: Lacrosse, Zoning Board

 Check this list everyday for a glimpse at what's happening around the Sachem community ... from school events to sports games and Town of Brookhaven and Islip functions, there is a sampling of everything.

1. Mother Goose: Dance and sing the Mother Goose way. Using puppets and props children will move and grove to some old favorites and hopefully discover some new ones. Siblings may attend if registered. Takes place at 10 a.m. at the Sachem Public Library.

2. Art Encounter: Head to the Sachem Public Library from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Art enthusiasts work on current projects in a variety of media, sharing ideas and learning new techniques from each other in a relaxed atmosphere. Jack Dean leads the group. All levels are welcome. Bring a work in progress or begin a new one. Bring your own supplies.

3. Zoning Board: The Town of Brookhaven Zoning Board will meet at 2 p.m. in town hall.

4. Lacrosse: The North boys will host Smithtown West in big game, the East boys will travel to West Babylon and East girls will travel to North Babylon.

5. Stories: On the site today, check out a story about getting involve with the education system as a senior citizen.
